Marketing surveys are tools that research and analyze the market for a particular product or service, which includes the investigation into customer tendencies or preferences. Surveys achieve this by posing questions which require feedback from the target audience. The feedback then helps marketers better understand their target markets’ characteristics, expectations, and needs. Also, market surveys collect data about a target market such as pricing trends, customer requirements, competitor analysis, and other such details. By conducting surveys, you can get a better idea on which customers have buying potential and focus on investing in their target market.

Surveys also play a huge role in product/service research and development. When companies develop new products/services, they have no assurance on their success. It is important for them to know how their target markets will react before the new launch. By conducting a survey, companies are able to find out the strengths and shortcomings of the potential launch which can lead to the enhancement of product/service features. Through the survey data, they can also refine the responses and find out what features of the product or service were well-received by target audiences. Most marketing managers depend on market surveys to collect information that would jumpstart the market research process and assist in creating marketing strategies.

Now, you are probably wondering how you can get started on implementing this effective marketing tool. One of the easiest ways to create a survey is through a survey developing software. A popular software that many people use is Survey Monkey and the basic version is absolutely free. All you have to do is create an account and start making your survey.

I created a survey because I wanted to know how readers were receiving my blog and if there was any room for improvement. When it comes to surveys, there are all sorts of ways you can format your questions such as multiple choice, rating scale, free response, and many more!

After creation, you can track responses and analyze the results for each question. Through my results, I found out that my target audience is looking forward to more content on marketing technology and artificial intelligence. This feedback helped me plan out future blog posts and provided me with a better understanding of my target audience. That is the value of surveys!
